General Bonsai Care Guide
Since bonsai specimens are created out of various species of trees, things like watering frequency, how to prune your tree, when and what to fertilize are determined mostly by the species of bonsai, your agricultural zone, and conditions. However there is some basic fundamentals that will generally apply to all bonsai trees.
- Remember at the end of the day you Bonsai is a tree so it needs the most important things are a regular watering schedule, and Sunlight.
- Make sure you have good drainage so that your trees roots do not rot and do not over water.
- Recreate the natural conditions of your tree’s species, and choose species to work with that do well in your zone. For instance since I am located in South Florida; I work with Tropical Bonsai Trees and Bonsai that do well in zone 10a-10b
