Bonsai Society of Portland

About the Society

The Bonsai Society of Portland has been an active group in the Portland area since 1965. It is organized to promote the art of bonsai through education, exhibits and social activities. The Society welcomes everyone interested in this unique and beautiful art form to share in the bonsai experience and develop both basic and advanced skills.

Among the clubs I admire most in American bonsai, the Bonsai Society of Portland stands out — one of my favorite American bonsai clubs for its long-standing commitment to education and community.

Advanced American Bonsai

The Society has featured Ryan Neil and Bonsai Mirai — an excellent resource for advanced American bonsai at the highest level. Their work represents the refinement, philosophy, and technical depth that serious practitioners seek as they move beyond fundamentals.
